FUNDRAISING 2009-2010
Welcome Montessori Parents,
As we begin the 2009-2010 School Year we would like to introduce our new parents to the fundraising side of our non-profit school and let our returning parents know what their efforts last year have accomplished, along with our ideas and goals for the upcoming year. Our MMS fundraising efforts are used to accomplish items outside of our operating budget, which is funded directly by your tuition payments.
Last year we had a variety of fundraisers along with our annual giving campaign. The efforts of these fundraisers went to replace and upgrade materials in our classrooms, playground equipment, fences and new gates, new storage units for the inside of the building, a climbing unit for the gym, along with several small appliances and furniture pieces for the classrooms. We definitely appreciate the giving nature of our Montessori families!
This year we hope to have just as much success in our annual giving campaign, fundraising and grant efforts. Our goal is to reduce the number of fundraisers with the hopes that we will still be able to obtain our fundraising goals for the school while continuing to make them more family activity related. It is through your support that we hope to accomplish the following:
Clean, stain and repair the outside siding of the school
Paint areas within the inside of the school Continue to replace older appliances throughout the school
New mats and equipment for the gym (large motor room)
New ramp for I/T exit to replace steps
Swing area for the infant/toddlers
Tire swing for the north side of the playground.
Along with the above mentioned fundraising areas we also participate in some ongoing types of fundraising. We are involved in Box Tops for Education. Just for fun when we collect Box Tops, the classrooms get a surprise treat from Miss Nancy when they reach their classroom goal. Many classrooms reached their individual goals several times last year.
We also participate in Labels for Education with the Campbell's soup company and Meijer Community Rewards along with the Target for Education program. All of these are very simple and require very little time. We usually generate about $1000 over the course of the school year with these programs. Please check out the attached information.
We hope that you and your child enjoy your time here at Midland Montessori. I hope to get to know our new families over the next year and touch base with those I have not seen over the summer. I am always open to new ideas, volunteers, anything that can enhance Midland Montessori School, so don't hesitate to contact me at 835-3921 ext. 31 or by e-mail at mmsnancy@chartermi.net. And if you would like to see a list of purchases made over the past year just stop in and check out the bulletin board by the front office.
